Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)
At Boasley Cross Primary School, every child is valued, included, and supported to thrive. As a small, nurturing rural school, we know each pupil as an individual, and we work closely with families to ensure that every child receives the right support at the right time.
We believe that all teachers are teachers of SEND, and that high‑quality, inclusive classroom practice is the foundation of good provision for all children. Where pupils need something additional to or different from the usual curriculum, we work in partnership with families and specialists to put tailored support in place.
Our Approach
- We identify needs early through careful observation, assessment, and close communication with parents.
- Support follows a clear Assess – Plan – Do – Review cycle, ensuring that provision is responsive, personalised, and regularly reviewed.
- We work closely with our SENDCo and wider multi‑agency partners, drawing on specialist advice where needed.
- We ensure pupils with SEND are fully included in the life of the school—learning, playing, achieving, and participating alongside their peers.
- Transitions between classes, schools or settings are carefully planned to ensure continuity and confidence for every child.
Our Commitment
We are committed to fostering a culture of resourcefulness, respect and resilience in every learner. Children with SEND are supported to develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging within our close‑knit school community. We recognise the important role of families and work collaboratively to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
